For the Love of Mango
Here’s a story I heard from our host Robert Clark. I’m not sure if this is part of the Philippine folklore but it is a good story that makes a good point.
There once was a boy who tried hard to sell a big bag of mangoes to people on the bus. But over and over again, people said no to him. The boy got discouraged. He eventually sat down and thought to himself that since he had so many mangoes he should eat one. And when he did, he found that the mangoes were juicy, soft and delicious. He was really enjoying the mango. The next thing you know, a man came up to him, saw what the boy was doing and wanted to buy a mango. And so did the next person and the next person and the next person.
The point is that the boy loved the mango. And when he did, others were attracted to love the mango too.
My prayer over the past few days is for me to love the Mango, so that others will be attracted to love the Mango too.
